New Peugeot 5008 Review: Affordable Luxury! This is the new Peugeot 5008! Peugeot has launched petrol and all-electric versions of the new 5008, but are they enough to tempt you away from similar 7-seaters like the Skoda Kodiaq and Hyundai Santa Fe? In terms of design, the 5008 is a significant improvement over the previous model. It has a boxy shape with stylish contour panels along the sides, and a contrasting roof option. Cool, unique alloy wheels are also available. The front end design is super elegant. The grille fits in with the overall design of the car. The car has traditional Peugeot daytime running lights, which help to enhance the aggressive look of the front end. Once inside, the interior design is a significant improvement over the previous model. The widescreen infotainment system is huge, the instrument cluster is digital and much of the cabin is made from soft-touch materials. A small steering wheel helps to enhance the sporty feel and there’s plenty of storage. The combustion engine range starts with a 1.2-litre self-charging hybrid producing 136bhp and 230Nm of torque. A 1.6-litre hybrid is also available, producing 195bhp and 350Nm of torque. There’s a single electric variant, the E5008, with a single motor producing 210bhp and 345Nm of torque. The combustion engine model starts at around £38,000, while the 5008 electric costs over £48,000… So does it make sense to fork out for an EV over a combustion engine? And, more importantly, is the new 5008 a better choice than the Kodiaq or Santa Fe? Join Mat and find out!
