Retrofit buffer capacitor, but no space?

About :

I bought a Laminatka from Piko some time ago, which has a small contact problem coupled with an annoying sound problem. What it also has is no space in the model to accommodate a normal buffer capacitor and the decoder has no connection for a power pack. So what can you do? I'm trying it with a buffer circuit from Fischer Modell.
