The center of Trenčianske Teplice was filled with retro and historical strollers on Saturday afternoon. The fashion and accessories of strollers were also reminiscent of the past. This year, the third year of the retro stroller event was connected with a similar picnic in the park. Up to 98 strollers participated in the event this year, which is the largest participation of all three years. Due to its nature as a spa town, Trenčianske Teplice is a popular tourist destination not only for Slovaks, but also for foreign visitors. For many decades, the promenade or the park have been zones along which you can meet well-dressed spa guests and residents on walks. For the third time, the public witnessed a large parade of retro and historical strollers, but the latest addition was an afternoon retro-picnic in the Spa Park. Everything took place on sunny Saturday, July 22, 2022, with the opening at Kúpelný námestí. The author of the idea to organize a unique promenade in Trenčianske Teplice is a passionate collector and resident of Trenčianske Teplice Svatava Torvényiová. She herself has dozens of strollers in her collection and has been pursuing her beautiful hobby since 2019. "In the Czech Republic, it is a nice tradition in many cities. It occurred to me that our spa town is perfect for such an event, and that's why three years ago I approached the management of the City of Trenčianske Teplice and the Regional Tourism Organization to see if we could jointly organize it. And it succeeded. Trenčianske Teplice will hold the event for the third time, which I am very much looking forward to," said Mrs. Svatava. "Beautifully dressed ladies and gentlemen have always been part of the color of our spa town, which is why we included this event in our summer program for the third time, also considering the participation in the first two years, which was always fantastic. This year we also added something new, after the official part of the registration, the opening of the promenade, we move to the Spa Park, where a retro-picnic and a pleasant afternoon among friends await us. We are looking forward to everyone," said the mayor of Trenčianske Teplice Zuzana Frajková Ďurmeková. Visitors, as well as participants of the Teplice retro-stroll, were treated to a pleasant afternoon in the form of a promenade through the city center from Kúpeľné námestie across Kúpeľné park, where for the first time a retro-picnic took place on the grassy area at the cafe (Caffé Brigitt). It was pleasant to see families sitting on blankets or couples in love playing cards and badminton. Undoubtedly, the musical performance of the saxophonist and singer Simi Boďová with the band made the picnic more enjoyable. The culmination was the evaluation of three categories: this year the pram from the longest distance was Mrs. Ľudmila Melicharová from Neratovíce (383 km), the most stylish retro pram outfit was won by the happy family of Deviatkov from Bánoviec nad Bebravou; the oldest carriage was the beauty of Mrs. Mária Zajacová from Bratislava from 1880, which "acted" in the film about the Austrian empress Sissi. What was new was the award of the pram in the public vote and the special prize of the mayor of the city to the ladies from Frýdek Místek from the neighboring Czech Republic, who did not lack gems and perfectly matched clothes and stylish matching of clothes and overall impression.
