Gospel of the day with consideration: 02/08/2022 Mk 7, 1-13 At that time: The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus. And he noticed that some of his disciples were eating bread with unclean, that is, unwashed hands. And the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they first thoroughly wash their hands; they adhere to the traditions of the ancients. Nor what they eat from the square if they don't wash first. There are still many things that they keep because of tradition: washing glasses, jugs and pots. That's why the Pharisees and scribes asked Jesus: "Why don't your disciples act according to the tradition of the ancients, but eat with unclean hands?" And he said to them: "Well did the prophet Isaiah speak of you, hypocrites, when he wrote: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is away from me. They worship me in vain, teaching the sciences — the ordinances of men. You have abandoned the commandment of God, and you stick to the traditions of men." He further said to them: "Nice! You are breaking God's command to preserve your tradition. Moses truly said: Honor your father and your mother: And: Whoever curses father or mother, let him be put to death. And you say: 'If someone says to a father or a mother: The help that comes to you from me should be a 'sacrifice', that is a holy gift, you do not allow such a person to do anything for their father or mother. This is how you break the word of God with your surrender, which you surrender to yourself. And what else do you do similar to that." Priest: Rev.
