On February 28, 1944, Ukrainians in the SS-Galizien units under the command of a German officer and the UPA sotnia carried out a cruel massacre of Poles living in the village of Huta Pieniacka. The murderers killed between 1,200 and 1,500 Poles, also robbing their property. 73 years after the crime, we give voice to the witnesses of this genocide, the families of the victims and those who, caring for memory, remind us that reconciliation between Poles and Ukrainians can only be based on truth.
