In this video I show the procedure I performed on my VW Polo to change the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and timing belt protection covers on the engine. My Volkswagen Polo is equipped with an EA111 1.6 engine, but the procedure is the same for the EA111 1.0 and 1.4 engines, too. To perform this service on my car, the following parts were used: 1 - Medium torque thread locker 1 - Original VW timing belt with HNBR - 030109119AB 1 - VW timing belt tensioner - 030109243M 1 - Schadek water pump: 20.089 1 - Set of timing belt protective covers for EA111 engine: Upper Cover: 032109121K Lower Cover: 030109127AE Inner Cover: 030109145AL Always give preference to good quality parts. This kit is for vehicles that use the engine transversely. In the case of the Kombi 1.4, and Gol G2 (ball), G3 and G4 1.0 which have the engine in the longitudinal position, the kit is another. I did not replace the valve timing and crankshaft seals because there were no leaks. I also bought a CIF degreaser and two brushes to clean the area and components that were not replaced, such as: Camshaft pulley and accessory belt pulley. Whenever you change the timing belt kit, it is important to check and change the accessory belt, especially in cars that use an elastic belt. In the case of the Polo 1.6 2003, the belt is a 6PK1070, it is small because the car has electro-hydraulic steering. It is also interesting to check the tensioner bearing of the accessory belt. Tightening torque of the bolts: 16mm bolt of the valve train pulley: 20Nm + 90° 13mm bolt of the timing belt tensioner: 25Nm 2 8mm Allen bolts of the water pump: 20Nm 4 8mm Allen bolts of the accessory belt pulley: 15Nm +40° 3 10mm bolts of the inner cover of the timing belt: 10Nm 2 10mm bolts of the lower cover of the timing belt: 9Nm 3 16mm bolts of the engine mount support: 50Nm 3 16mm bolts of the engine mount: 30 Nm + 90° 4 13mm bolts of the engine mount base: 20 Nm + 90° Thank you for watching and following the channel! ________________________________________________________________ #joaoavr #vw #ea111
