Here comes the time for laughter and singing... not really, because we cried and shouted instead. OUR LIFE PROJECT Our life project is following its path, with the renovation of our house. A big year after arriving on our land, we finally got started, in the middle of winter. It must be said that after having dug a pond, built a small house out of wood and straw, built a 90m² greenhouse, started a vegetable garden, started a good big chicken coop, planted fruit trees, made cubic meters of firewood and renovated a caravan, nothing scares us anymore and we were starting to get bored. THE HOUSE PROJECT A stone house, from the first third of the century, literally hanging on a rock - so semi-troglodyte - with a surface area of ​​26m² on the ground, with a cellar and a mezzanine. The humidity flows freely, not an ounce of insulation (board and tile only for the roof). A bathroom area. In short, happiness. OVERALL We therefore want to expand obviously, but also to clean up the interior and exterior rendered walls, to bring in light. We obviously want to use wood, which we had harvested from our forest during the construction of the straw hut. Therefore, straw also for insulation. THE VERANDA We want a veranda but earthship / bioclimatic greenhouse type. Indeed, the windows are tilted at 60 ° to optimize the power to capture the sun's rays in winter. We need to limit our energy, we heat with wood but all the same, although we do it, it is important to us. And finally, a space that transforms into a real seedling nursery for the spring in order to ensure our food autonomy in vegetables. THE KITCHEN Large, spacious, functional, adapted to our needs. Federico cooks everything at home, we need space and comfort. A real living room, we will not have a living room, useless in our lifestyle. Quality wood stove for winter, large sink, beautiful work surface. It must be said that in addition to cooking for us, he also cooks for our customers from our tourist rental. THE FLOOR From a mezzanine, we create a plateau with a real bedroom, where you can stand up everywhere. This was not the case before. A dressing room area. A real bathroom and a dry toilet separate from the bathroom. THE CELLAR It is not shown in the video, because on the day we put our restoration work online, the cellar construction site is not done. But it will be and will complete the whole. Our needs: processing space (preserves, cheeses, preparation of chickens) but also storage. We are lucky to have the cellar with exposed rock on a wall, so it is very cool in summer and remains stable in winter. Note: we are normal people, who are not from the construction industry.
