Both models share a similar platform, but with significant differences that we will explore throughout this analysis. Will the Duster, previously known as the least experienced student, be able to take on the Captur? Let's find out! ???? The Renault Captur stands out for its compact and elegant design. It measures 4.24 metres long and has a wheelbase of 2.64 metres, making it 10 cm shorter and with 2 cm less wheelbase than the Duster. These differences impact the interior space and boot capacity. The Captur offers between 385 and 450 litres of boot space, depending on the position of the rear bench seat, and non-hybrid versions add an extra 100 litres thanks to an additional floor. ???? In terms of safety, the Captur takes the lead with five stars in Euro NCAP compared to the Duster's three. This difference is largely due to the Captur's better frontal protection, although the Duster shows good results in side and pole tests. However, it lacks a central airbag, something that takes away important points. ????️ In terms of engines, the Captur offers several options: a 1.0 TCe available in petrol and LPG with powers between 90 and 100 horsepower; a 1.3 TCe with 140 or 160 hp and automatic or manual transmission; and finally, the 140 hp E-Tech hybrid system, which combines a 1.6 naturally aspirated engine with two electric motors. This diversity allows users to select the engine that best suits their needs. ⚙️???? The exterior of the Captur has evolved since its launch in 2019, adopting a more modern design with C-shaped taillights and a polygonal optical signature at the front. Its ground clearance is 16.5 cm, 5 cm less than the Duster, giving it a more delicate appearance and less suitable for rough terrain, but ideal for urban driving. ???? Inside, the Captur offers a higher quality experience with soft materials and fabric finishes on the dashboard and doors. The instrument screen is larger and more advanced, using the Android Automotive operating system, allowing integration with Google functions. ????️???? Behind the wheel, the Captur stands out for its driving refinement. The engine and road noise are lower, and the steering is more precise. In addition, it offers several driving modes (Comfort, Eco, Sport and Custom), adjusting the hardness of the steering according to the driver's preferences. These features make the Captur a dynamic and pleasant SUV for daily driving. ????️???? The Captur's hybrid system is designed to maximize fuel efficiency. It offers different operating modes to optimize the use of the internal combustion engine and electric motors. Although the Captur has slightly higher consumption figures than the Duster, it is still an efficient and sustainable option. ???????? The Captur stands out for its modernity and refinement, while the Duster is presented as a practical and economical vehicle.
