ADVICE, so Read me in full please For Mercedes 190: 2.0 D, 2.5 D, 2.5 TD, Vito etc etc The question having been asked to me several times, I put here a small video on the subject: Removing an injection pump without having the tool for holding the gear wheel (pinion) or pinion with variator. BE CAREFUL, you are responsible for your actions! We are touching here on a very sensitive part!! Neither the site nor the author of the tutorial is responsible for what you do. If you do not feel able to do it or if you do not have all the tools, go to a garage. I am doing the manipulation here on a removed engine that I have to redo, but it is the same thing on an engine installed in the car. I still recommend, if possible, to be 2 to do this manipulation, 1 to hold the sprocket while the second removes and (or) reassembles the injection pump (even if it can be done alone) see VITO 110 TD video I rarely talk about it, but I advise you to make 1 or 2 marks at different places on the chain/sprocket to ensure afterwards that you have not had any offset during the manipulation, especially if you are not used to this type of work.
