This time, the Remote Island Study Group went to Iheya Island and Izena Island in Okinawa Prefecture. We boarded the Iheya III ferry from Unten Port near Nago, Okinawa, for an approximately 80-minute voyage. The sea was very beautiful, an emerald green. As we visited in June, there were not many tourists and it really felt like a private beach. Iheya Island's appeal is not just its sea, but the recommended spot is Kumaya Cave. It is also said to be the site of the legend of Ama-no-Iwato, where you can enjoy the magnificent natural beauty. On the second day, we traveled to Izena Island from Nobo Port on a chartered boat from MIU Marine. Please enjoy.
