The DB has long since stopped using DR V 100 mainline locomotives on scheduled trains. However, the reliable machines are still indispensable for private companies. The history of the V 100 family begins in 1964/65 at LKM in Babelsberg and ends in 1985 with well over 1,000 series machines at LEW Hennigsdorf. We have compiled the story in a documentary.
