The members of the Law Commission are examining the bill aimed at integrating the notion of consent into the criminal definition of the offences of sexual assault and rape, included on the agenda by the La France insoumise (NFP) group. Defended by LFI MP Sarah Legrain, this text aims to remedy an "insufficient definition of rape" in the penal code, and modifies the definitions of sexual assault and rape to explicitly include the absence of "consent", which is currently absent. After its examination in committee, the text must be examined in the hemicycle on 28 November, during the group's "parliamentary niche". The LCP editorial team offers you selected excerpts from the public sessions in the hemicycle and from the working sessions or hearings in committees.
