The menstrual cycle is a cycle that our lives are based on, whether we realize it or not, whether we pay attention to it or not. It's important to understand that whatever thoughts and feelings we begin our cycle with, will also be carried through it ⍜ The seeds you plant at the beginning of the cycle will continually grow, so it's incredibly important that you spend time at the beginning of your bleeding setting your intentions for the new cycle and planting the seeds you want to nurture as they grow to their fullness during your current menstrual cycle. There is so much transformational magic available to women during their cycles. I hope this yin inspired yoga class will help you not only release your sacred blood, but also access that magic within yourself. I hope it will create an opening and expansion in your body as you release those heavy fluids. In this class, we will move very slowly and avoid any type of inversions to help you release your blood. We will continually find a deep connection to our womb. I filmed this class while I was on my period, and I hope that connection comes through the screen. You may want to have a rolled up blanket or yoga bolster and maybe a couple of pillows or a yoga block handy for the final relaxation. You may also want to have some incense (like palo santo or sage) or maybe a candle or essential oil - anything you have handy to make this class a more sacred ritual.
