This video documents the full-scale dismantling and repair of the National Treasure "Cypress Screen" by Kano Eitoku, housed at the Tokyo National Museum, which took place over 18 months from October 2012 to March 2014. You can also watch new discoveries made during the repair process, and the restoration of the karakami paper that reflects these discoveries. The repair and video documentation of this work were made possible through a grant from the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Cultural Heritage Conservation Project.
