It is therefore about cultivating the ability to accept one’s mental states for what they are, without being fascinated by what is attractive and without rejecting what is unpleasant. This attitude of radical acceptance is essential to overcome the traps woven by mental constructions. In fact, the mind, in trying to reject what is unpleasant, ends up making us remain trapped in suffering. This concept is the basis of psychotherapeutic interventions based on Mindfulness, which is cultivated through real meditation exercises. Many studies show that the consistent practice of these exercises has profound beneficial effects on the central nervous system and on the physical and mental health of practitioners.
