According to the FipeZAP X-Ray Survey for the 3rd quarter of 2024, the intention to purchase real estate rose to 42%, compared to 35% in the previous survey, a significant advance that indicates a heating up of the real estate market. Of this total, 87% responded that the purpose of the property will be for housing, which shows how much financing with resources from the FGTS and SBPE will be in demand, whose resources are increasingly scarce. Regarding the respondents who bought properties in the last 12 months (12% of the sample), 70% opted to buy used properties and most of them for housing (59%). For the majority of respondents, 71%, property prices are “high or very high”, in the same period of 2023 this percentage was 54%. This, aligned with the increase in purchase intentions, shows that the market still has room for price increases. 80% of respondents expect property prices to increase or remain the same, compared to only 5% who expect prices to fall. This data reinforces the thesis that there is room for price increases.
