Napoleon Bonaparte looks a little grim here, but he puts a grin on our dealers' faces! Undoubtedly recognizable by his distinctive hat, the former Emperor of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte, sits at the table with a grim look on his face. The Viennese manufacturer Goldscheider produced over 10,000 different ceramic models between 1885 and 1938. This figure is one of them. Imposingly dressed in his classic uniform of hat and general's cloak, the former French Emperor sits grimly on a chair next to a table. But Horst immediately notices something: there is a hole in the small table! Our expert Colmar reveals: a small electric lantern can be attached here and shine brightly. This transforms the ceramic into a functioning lamp! From clues underneath the figure, Colmar concludes that it must have been made around 1911. What sets it apart from other works by the Goldscheider company, however, is that it is not listed in the Goldscheider family's catalogue raisonné. This makes it a very special rarity and deserves an appearance in our XXL show! What's still missing? That Napoleon sees the light! But who on the dealer team will give Napoleon a new lantern and a new home?
