Ramayana - EP 42 - Jamwant reminds Hanuman of the force. Angad, Hanuman and Jamwant are in the south-bound monkey group. They keep moving ahead on their path. Seeing water birds coming out of a mountain cave, they hope to find water. To quench their thirst, they all go inside. There they see the ascetic Swayamprabha. She recognizes everyone with her austerity power. Swayamprabha is the daughter of Meruswarni who was born due to the boon of Brahma. The ascetic Swayamprabha gave fruits to all the monkeys to satisfy their hunger. Satisfying the curiosity of the monkey group, she told them that this place was created by a demon named Maya through his illusion. The demon Maya fell in love with an Apsara named Hema. Then Maya fought with Devraj Indra to get the Apsara in which he was killed. After this, Lord Brahma handed over the responsibility of protecting this beautiful forest to Hema and Hema handed over the responsibility to Swayamprabha. The ascetic Swayamprabha says that whoever comes to this place does not return alive but if the monkey group has come here for the work of Lord Shri Ram, then no calamity will befall them. After having their fill, the monkey group now wants to go out but they do not find the way. Then Hanuman requests Swayamprabha. Swayamprabha takes the entire monkey group directly to the seashore with her austerity power and herself departs towards Badrik Ashram. The one month period set for the search of Sita is about to pass. Seeing the campaign failing, Angad decides to give up food and water on the seashore and give up his life. The entire group sits on a fast with him. Vulture king Sampati, who lives near this place, listens to their conversation. Sampati comes to know from Hanuman about Sita being kidnapped and Jatayu who died a martyr after fighting with Ravana. Sampati is Jatayu's elder brother. Once, in the pride of their power, Sampati and Jatayu fly to reach the sun but both start burning due to the intense heat of the sun. Then Sampati saves his younger brother Jatayu under the shadow of his wings and brings him to the earth. But his own wings get burnt. On Hanuman's request, Sampati sees the Ashok Vatika of Lanka with his vulture vision and tells that Sita is sitting mourning under a tree. Now the problem before them is to cross the four hundred kos sea. Jamvant reminds Hanuman of his immense strength. He says that Hanuman is the eleventh Rudra of Lord Shankar. Hanuman is the son of wind and he has the courage to fly at the speed of wind. Jamvant tells the story that he was named Hanuman due to an incident. Once Indra, out of ignorance, attacked the son of wind with a thunderbolt. He fell on the Udayagiri mountain and his chin got hurt. Since then he was named Hanuman. Jamvant tells that in his childhood, Bajrangbali used to harass the sages and munis who were doing penance by using his strength. Then a sage cursed him to forget all his powers, but on mother Anjani's request, the sage suggested that if Hanuman was reminded of his powers at the appropriate time, he would regain all his powers. Jamwant reminds Hanuman of his forgotten powers.
