Rainer Forst was born in Wiesbaden in 1964. He studied philosophy, political science and American studies and received his doctorate under Jürgen Habermas. He belongs to the so-called third generation of the Frankfurt School, which was founded by Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno. In his research he focuses primarily on the basic concepts of justice and tolerance - in 2012 he was awarded the "Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize". Forst is a professor of political theory and philosophy at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and co-spokesperson of the research cluster "The Formation of Normative Orders". Despite various attractive offers from renowned universities abroad, Rainer Frost remains loyal to his homeland - which may be due, among other things, to his love of the Eintracht Frankfurt football club. http://shrk.vg/Forst
