Nineteen vehicles and more than fifty firefighters participated in the extinguishing. Sleepers caught fire at the Rákosrendező train station late Monday night in the fourteenth district. The fire affected a 100-meter-long, 20-meter-wide, five-meter-high foundation pit and the undergrowth in its surroundings, as well as endangering a 32-cubic-meter gas tank. The gas tank was towed away by MÁV specialists. The professional and volunteer firefighters from Rózsadombi and Zugló, as well as volunteers from the FOKA River Disaster Management and Special Rescue Association, contained the fire at two o'clock in the morning, i.e. prevented the flames from spreading. Nineteen vehicles and more than fifty firefighters participated in the extinguishing. Firefighters were still working on dismantling and finally extinguishing the pile of sleepers on Tuesday morning. There were no personal injuries.
