During a road trip this summer, one of the goals of the trip was to follow the embankment along the old narrow-gauge KURJ, Köping - Uttersberg - Riddarhyttans Railway. The first section as old as 1866. After 102 years in use, the track was shut down in 1968. I started from route 68 in Riddarhyttan and then followed the embankment along smaller roads to finally come out on larger roads again towards Kolsva and finally Köping. Taking a thermos of coffee with you and following old track embankments is among the best things I know, nerdy as I am! #railwayhistory #historia #history #narrowgauge #railway #roadtrip #railroad
