Americanist and political scientist Rafael Ordukhanyan commented on Donald Trump's election promises on Alpha News and expressed hope for improved relations between the United States and Russia. "Trump's statements can be divided into several stages: this is what he said before the elections, during the elections, but now that the elections have passed, his rhetoric is changing a little, and when he goes through the inauguration process in January, it will change even more. But I belong to the category of political scientists who welcome his victory for Russia. And not because I expect some great achievements from him or some real serious dialogue with Russia, although he has stated this repeatedly. Even if we remove this rhetoric and say that we do not trust, or as Putin said: "we do not believe in words - we believe in deeds." I do not proceed from what Trump said, but from the current state of Russian-American relations.
