We invite you to a series of events commemorating Maria Skłodowska–Curie on the 90th anniversary of the scientist's death. The main event programme consists of three popular science debates and an outdoor board exhibition and a campaign promoting bone marrow donation. ????DEBATES We have prepared three debates showing the life and work of Maria Skłodowska-Curie in the area of radioactivity, medicine and education. In each debate, three speakers will present the past, present and future in the context of the leading topic in 20-minute speeches. After the lectures, the panelists will take part in a moderated discussion. The debates will be held in the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Room at the National Institute of Rural Culture and Heritage, at 66 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, in the former Museum of Industry and Agriculture, where Maria Skłodowska conducted her first physical research before leaving for studies in Paris. The debates will be broadcast on the social media profiles of the organiser and the partner. Admission to the stationary event is free. ????EXHIBITION "Continuous Thread. Maria Skłodowska-Curie 1867–1934” exhibition dedicated to the biography and achievements, as well as the social reception of the scientist from an international perspective, presented in the Open-Air Gallery of the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw, at ul. Agrykola 1. We invite you to the vernissage on July 4, 2024, on the anniversary of the scientist's death. The exhibition will be open until the end of July. ????CAMPAIGN “The JOY of sharing, the JOY of acting”. Referring to the social involvement of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, as part of commemorating her life and achievements, we have joined the campaign to promote saving the lives of blood cancer patients. For this purpose, we have established cooperation with the DKMS Foundation. During museum events on April 25 and May 18 (during the Night of Museums), the foundation's volunteers will inform about the idea of donation and register potential bone marrow donors. Registration involves familiarizing yourself with the basic exclusion criteria, filling out a form and taking a swab from the inside of the cheek.
