https://www.radar.rs In the twentieth episode of “Radar Forum”, challenger Bojan Pajtić, professor at the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, hosted Danica Vučenić, a journalist at N1, who, as the host himself pointed out, has been synonymous with professionalism, integrity and the fight for the truth for decades. The interlocutors dedicated a significant part of the conversation to the (un)freedom of the media in Serbia, the responsibility of politicians and the essential mistakes of past and current governments. They agreed that journalism in Serbia today is a profession with enormous risks, assessing that the media are the key pillar of preserving the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, which functions as a propaganda machine, rendering critical thinking and action meaningless. Pajtić raised the question of the necessity of lustration, not only in political, but also in media circles, in order to restore professionalism and the trust of citizens. He explained that lustration is not a punishment, but a way to prevent the return of individuals who undermined democratic principles. Vučenić, on the other hand, recalled the missed opportunities of the Democratic Party to build independent institutions during its rule, emphasizing that today's opposition should understand that free journalists are not allies of any regime. They also discussed the student blockades taking place across Serbia, assessing them as a rebellion, a sign that there is still energy for change despite the fact that society doubted the engagement of young people.
