The KPK even said that Sahbirin had fled because his whereabouts were unknown. This information was revealed when a member of the KPK Legal Bureau team, Indah, read out a response to Sahbirin's pretrial motion at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (11/5). Indah explained that the KPK investigation team had conducted searches in a number of locations but the results were nil. The locations suspected of being Sahbirin's hiding place are the South Kalimantan Governor's official residence, private residence, the South Kalimantan PUPR official residence, and other locations. Sahbirin has also received a Letter of Notification of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) from the KPK. Sahbirin has also been banned from traveling abroad. Therefore, the KPK named Sahbirin as a suspect in alleged corruption without conducting an examination. According to the KPK, the in absentia process is possible in handling corruption crimes. This was conveyed at the same time to refute Sahbirin's argument that the determination of the suspect was invalid because there had been no examination of the suspect candidate. Meanwhile, Sahbirin's lawyer, Soesilo Aribowo when confirmed on Wednesday (6/11) denied the KPK which said that his client had run away. According to Soesilo, Sahbirin was only calming down, not running away. Moreover, Sahbirin is now banned from leaving the country. However, Soesilo did not mention the location where Sahbirin was calming down. Soesilo asked the KPK and the public not to speculate excessively about Sahbirin's disappearance. He asked all parties to wait for the pretrial process which is currently underway at the South Jakarta District Court. The decision on Sahbirin's pretrial will be read out on Tuesday (12/11). For information, Sahbirin Noor is suspected of being involved in a case of alleged bribery of a development project in South Kalimantan. Apart from Sahbirin, there are six other people who are also suspects, including four ASN. The determination of the suspect began with the KPK's sting operation (OTT) carried out in South Kalimantan on Sunday (6/10).
