The cycle of round table discussions "University of the future: what kind of university (does not) Lithuania needs?" is an initiative of VMU, which aims to draw the attention of academic and business sector, decision makers to the situation of higher education in Lithuania and to identify problems and find effective solutions to improve the situation of the university sector. In the first introductory conversation about the university of the future together with Assoc. R. Valatka was a journalist, former chief advisor to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, professor of the Department of Public Communication at VMU, Audronė Nugaraitė, philosopher, head of the first "VDU Academia Cum Laude" created in Lithuania based on the model of individual studies and curatorship, professor Leonidas Donskis, historian, political scientist and VMU Political Science and dean of the faculty of diplomacy prof. Šarūnas Liekis.
