The documentary “The Disgust Factor” is about the neglected issues of wastewater treatment and water sector management in Armenia. While the world is struggling with the relentless depletion of water resources and climate change, Armenia, facing enormous water losses, still lacks full wastewater treatment plants, a water sector strategy, and insufficient capacity to implement its international commitments and programs. Against the backdrop of food security and water sector management issues, Armenia’s untreated wastewater continues to pollute the environment, creating serious risks for public health.
