The invitation to the podcast was accepted by neuroscientist Aleš Stuchlík, who studied neurobiology at the Faculty of Science of Charles University. He completed his doctoral studies in the field of neuroscience at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University. He currently works as the head of the Department of Neurophysiology of Memory at the Physiological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and a researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ). He mainly deals with learning and memory, but also models of neuropsychiatric disorders. And it clarifies why we behave the way we do. He teaches and guides domestic and foreign students not only at Charles University in Prague. He also devotes his time to the popularization of science, and in his spare time he deals with neurocoaching and personal and professional development of people. Together with Professor Aleš Stuchlík, we first set out on a journey through the landscape of the human brain to get to know its basic anatomy and functions. Although it is an organ intensively studied scientifically, we still know very little about it. But in order to understand, at least in outline, the mechanisms that we often talk about in our podcast and the Life Behind the Wall cycle, it is necessary to better understand the structure of the human brain. Starting with neurons and glial cells, through the most developmentally oldest centers, to places responsible for stress, anxiety, worry, memory or breath. But in the podcast, we also focus on what benefits and harms the brain, so that it becomes clear what does good or harm to ourselves and our mental health.
