What functions does sex fulfill, and what does passion fulfill? How do gender differences affect the search for a partner for a long-term and short-term relationship? The lecture will introduce you to the world of great feelings. Professor Wojciszke talks about the independence of passion and sex, and the economics of sex, breaking down love into the smallest possible components. Bogdan Wojciszke – author of numerous studies on the perception and evaluation of people, the dynamics of close emotional relationships, the psychology of power, the attitude of Poles towards ownership transformations, productivity and dignity as ethical values ​​of contemporary Polish society. As part of his research internships, he stayed at the University of Aberdeen, the Max-Planck-Institut in Berlin, in Paris and Oxford. A scholarship holder of the Humboldt Foundation. He has received numerous awards, including from the Ministry of National Education and the Polish Academy of Sciences. He conducts research on issues such as the perception and evaluation of people (including oneself), and is particularly interested in two types of content that play a key role here – agency (efficiency, competence, focus on goals) and community (morality and social functioning) and the principles of making moral assessments. Secondly, he examines the perception of the social world, and is interested in the common phenomenon in Poland of delegitimization (depriving the social order of its legitimacy) and its consequences.
