There has been a rise in cases of abuse by staff working at facilities for people with disabilities. In fiscal 2022, the number of reported cases reached a record high of 956 (according to a survey by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare). On the other hand, facilities for people with disabilities play an important role for families, and there are many people waiting to move in. To find out why abuse is increasing, MBS conducted its own survey of on-site staff working at facilities for people with disabilities to explore the background.
