"Flame Drum" is a humorous story about a clumsy antiques shop owner who goes to sell an old drum to a feudal lord. The story originally dates back to the Edo period, but was expanded a bit by the first San'yutei Yuzo in the late Meiji period. Kokontei Shinsho V, who had heard Yuzo's performances in the dressing room during his training, reworked the story into something that could be called a new work by Shinsho in the early Showa period, adding a lot of tickling. Katsura Utamaru was an early member of Shoten "Shoten" and his dialogue with Koenyu was well-received, but he realized that he was neglecting rakugo and decided to do it properly. He often went to see kabuki performances performed by Nakamura Kichiemon, because he believed that watching the gestures and posture of kabuki could be applied to rakugo. The name "Utamaru" was devised by his master, Katsura Yonemaru IV, and the current Utamaru is the first. Music: BGMer http://bgmer.net #Rakugo #Kaen Taiko #Utamaru #Shoten
