About :

"Is the price I set normal? How should I normally explain the features of the parts?" is what I was asked to ask. In the past, when I met with artists, I was often asked to answer, "What is normal?" This time, I talked about how conforming to "normal" does not bring you closer to solving the fundamental problem. ▼Japan's largest handmade and handcrafted mail order site "minne" by GMO Pepabo https://bit.ly/3wLIyq3 ▼For those who want to sell handmade works online https://bit.ly/3qLJCX7 00:00 Greetings, reading of questions 05:29 Too emotional and interrupted 05:56 Resume 07:07 Answer, gallery introduction 11:08 Answer ① I want something that I can confidently present as a normal price 17:30 Answer ② Ideas to show the actual product in a photo without misunderstandings, such as thin or thick ▼ "Good morning! minne LAB" is always looking for artists' concerns. My name is Koharu, an accessory artist. I've been making accessories for myself for a while, and as I gave them as gifts to friends, I started to feel like I wanted to sell them. If I was going to sell them, I wanted to learn properly, not just do it my own way, so I got a qualification. Since last year, I've been preparing to sell little by little, imagining the time when I sold them. I quit my job at the end of last year, and then the corona pandemic hit, so I decided to stop working for a while, so I had a lot of time to do some research. In the midst of all this, I found out about the Minne website and was fascinated by the beauty of the works. Since I had no experience selling my works, I looked at the website to see how to take great photos, learned on YouTube, learned on Good Morning Minne Lab, and looked up information on the internet. Minne is not just full of great works, but because there are only great works, I felt that it was difficult to get into, and I didn't have the courage to take the plunge and start selling them. I had no experience buying handmade items, so before I registered, I bought some nice stationery I found on Minne, and it was my first experience as a buyer. Everything was a new experience, from how to go through the purchasing process to how the items were delivered. I was excited just buying it. The artist's response at that time was very sincere, and that impression made me like Minne even more. I decided that I wanted to sell my items here after all! I mustered up my courage, registered on Minne, and started my career as an artist. When I started, I was full of worries. What bothers me the most is, "What is normal?" and "What is the standard?" about pricing and works. Like many people, I am really worried about pricing. I took what Mao had said so far into consideration, and since the beginning is the most important thing, I set the price by thinking carefully about the future. I also created a price list so that I wouldn't have any trouble later on if the price setting fluctuated. When I calculated the price, I couldn't accept this amount! Do they really charge this much? Wouldn't everyone be satisfied with a price that just added a little to the cost of materials? I couldn't sell my items, so I rethought the way I calculated the price from scratch. I was originally planning to include the transportation costs, which are not insignificant. I use public transportation to go shopping many times, but it was a mistake on my part to not be able to go all at once, and I can buy it online, so it doesn't matter to the customer. If I was working, I could have come as a regular...If I don't know what to divide and how to add it up in the first place, I shouldn't get it. I cut it down. The next thing that concerns me when looking at the numbers is the hourly wage. The cost of materials is the minimum. It's the actual amount spent, so it can't be cut. By the way, I set it lower than the local minimum wage. For those that use thin chains, it takes too much time to do the detailed work of cutting them short, spreading the links, and threading the parts. I can't spread the links in one go because I don't have the skill, so I shouldn't include that... If that's the case, when making a prototype, I'll think about whether I can make a part of it first, or if there is a way to make it more efficiently, and by doing some preparation, I decided to keep the price down when making works for sale without calculating it as an hourly wage. Is it still higher than normal? What is a reasonable price for my work? What is the average price for works of this quality? "The price varies from person to person." When I see the price that Mao always talks about on Minne Lab, I think "That's right, that's right," and I'm interested in it... But when I put a price on it, it feels higher than I think, so I cut the price. As for the work, I wrote "ultra-thin" or "thin chain" in the description, but is it really thin? Is it thin to anyone? Or... It's ultra-thin to me, but if you hear it's ultra-thin, will you mistake it for something even thinner? I'm worried... In fact, a few years ago I purchased something that was described as an ultra-thin chain online and had a photo of it, but it wasn't ultra-thin at all, and I was sent something that I couldn't even cut with pliers, so I wonder if I'll make people feel the same way? Or. Even if I explain that it's a small pearl, there are even smaller pearls... Or, I want to explain that it's long... but the standard for long is different for each person, right? ? No matter what I write, I'm troubled. If I can't explain it well, I thought I'd show it in a photo, but I'm not good at photography, and I don't know how to express the thickness and size well. Especially the problem of the thinness of the chain. I thought I would take a picture of something that would look natural next to the work, but no matter what I put next to it, it just didn't look right in showing how thin it was. In the end, I only took a picture of the chain, and if I thought it was thin, it was thin, but if I thought it was thick, it was thick. I struggled a lot with explaining my work and taking pictures, and I had to replace them, and because I don't have the vocabulary, I couldn't find any words to attract people, so I rewrote them many times, re-shot them, and it took several days to list them. Even so, it didn't work out at all, and I still struggled even after listing them. I previously decluttered my computer, so I can only see how it looks on my smartphone. I manage my ideas for the work, the suppliers and prices of the parts, calculations for the selling price of the work, the prices of the parts, and information needed when listing them by hand, so everything is done manually and it takes time. I spend a lot of time, and there are more and more days when there is no activity on the site, and there are also days when there are zero hits. The sad reality is that people don't even search for them. I started listing them in small doses to show that I'm open. I understand that there is no answer to the questions about each person's sense of "normal" and "standard". Could you give us something that can confidently show that this price is normal? And could you give us some ideas to show the actual product in a photo without any misunderstandings, such as thin or thick? Thank you. P.S. I would really like to raise the target amount, but for now I just want you to notice it. * * "Good morning! minne LAB" is an official video distribution that minne delivers to artists who are working on crafts.
