Live Aid was the first charity concert to ever take place in the world. On July 13, 1985, the biggest names in rock and roll gathered at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. The main objective was to raise funds to benefit the people of Ethiopia and Somalia. The most difficult figure was Queen. In the mid-80s, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon dominated the rock scene, with several albums released and great performances. Geldof contacted Brian May. The organizer explained to the guitarist the importance of being part of this event. By 1985, Queen had released The Works with very good responses. Each of the members had their own personal plans, away from the stage. Finally, the group accepted.
