What is a Purchasing Analyst and what does he/she do? The purchasing sector, also known as the purchasing department, is responsible for the purchases made by a company. Purchase of inputs, production products, office products, maintenance products and, in general, any product that the company needs to acquire. Whenever there is a need for a material within a company, the responsible sector will request the purchase of that material. The buyer, in turn, will search for and develop a supplier for that product on the market, make a quote taking into account the requested characteristics of the product, the price and quality of service and make the purchase.
