We climb to the Cesare Battisti peak, a beautiful peak facing the east face of Monte Rosa (2000 m of Himalayan wall, the only one in the Alps). We start from Pecetto di Macugnaga, a Walser village in Val Anzasca-Piemonte. At an altitude of 2754 m. is the crest of Locce Chiuse that, from the meadows of Pedriola, rises towards Pizzo Bianco, at the end of the Chiovenda gully. It was dedicated by the first climber, to the hero of the First World War Cesare Battisti. A small Madonna welcomes the visitor. It was placed here in 1989 by the CAI Inveruno section. Great emotions after the efforts of the climb... not trivial. From Pecetto you reach the Belvedere, cross the moraine of the glacier of the same name and continue to Alpe Pedriola, with the Zamboni Zappa refuge. From here begins the tiring and steep climb to Colle Bortolon, and then on exposed ledges equipped with chains and ropes to the final ridge. 19 km for 1600 m of positive altitude difference. Water point at Alpe Pedriola. Here is the GPX track of the route: https://www.komoot.com/tour/130529714...
