Today, July 6, nearly 600,000 teachers from public and private schools across the country, at different levels and educational modalities, celebrate Teachers' Day, according to the results of the 2018 National Household Survey conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). In Peru there are 470,635 teachers of regular public basic education who serve more than two million students; however, 75% of these are in the city and only 25% in rural areas, which is where they are most needed. But one of the main needs to improve the educational level is the ongoing training of teachers and for this reason the Ministry of Education invests a lot in pedagogical support, workshops, courses and updating programs. A team from Al Sexto Día exposed the reality of teachers in our country and what better idea than on their day. We came out with a secret weapon, children who attend high school to test their beloved teachers. It only took a few questions and a couple of hours to realize that the level of education in our country could be in emergency. Go to http://ptv.pe/269370 for more information.
