https://nova.rs/video/?ref=yt Professional help is more necessary for the parent than for the child, because children only bear the consequences, says the famous child psychiatrist from the Institute of Mental Health, Dr. Roberto Grujičić, who is also one of the author of the "Two and a Half Psychiatrists" podcast. In the new episode of Mamazjanija, he takes a look at the growing number of problems brought about by the so-called "new age" modern parenting, as well as technology, which is an integral part of life, unfortunately also for children under the age of three. In an interview with Mamazjanija, he lists all the causes of disorders in the development and behavior of children, which, he emphasizes, are not the parents' fault and their wrong approach, which, however, often promotes a bad mental state. The mistakes we make as parents are unconscious, but they can be fatal. "Narcissistic personalities attribute children's successes to themselves, they are only interested in the results, to which they do not contribute at all. They create in children a fear of failure, that is, of losing parental love, which is the most difficult thing for a child," says Dr. Grujičić. He states who are the parents who neglect their children and advises when parents in Serbia should and should not bring their children to a psychiatrist. It explains why children should not be given a phone before the age of three and how growing up with a phone disrupts a child's psycho-social development. In a conversation for our podcast, he describes narcissistic parents and explains how to know if we are like that. It also indicates how much the behavior and mood of parents affects children and warns that mutual trust between children and parents can be easily lost. The doctor concludes that going to a child psychiatrist makes sense in extreme situations and when the parent has exhausted all other options, such as talking to the child, going to the school pedagogue, psychologist at the health center, who failed to help, so it is a more serious diagnosis. Certainly, awareness of the problem and re-examination of parents, when they notice a disorder in their child's behavior, is the first step towards improvement.
