This is set to change with Simon Bäuml's invention. Together with his brother Ben and their mutual friend Martin, he has developed a bicycle lock that promises more protection for e-bikes. The inventors are building on two locking mechanisms: while the first is designed to block the rotation of the wheel, the second is designed to prevent the wheel from being removed. If the lock is broken, it is designed to destroy the fork and wheel of the bicycle - making it completely unattractive to thieves. In addition, the lock is to be equipped with an acoustic alarm and GPS for emergencies. The invention is designed to be able to be opened and closed contactlessly using an app. Simon's vision: In the future, e-bikes should be able to be locked as easily and securely as a car.
