On the Konan Railway Owani Line, the Ki105 snowplow car of the JNR Ki100-type freight car and the Baldwin-Westinghouse electric locomotive ED221 worked together to clear snow. This year, the ED221 had a malfunction, so this season the motor car will be in charge of snow removal. Due to the financial situation of the line, it has been announced that it will cease operation at the end of fiscal year 2027, and there are voices saying that it may be abolished as it is and that the ED221 may not return.
