Prostate cancer affects many elderly men. Furthermore, it is also one of the main causes of cancer-related deaths in this population. Managing prostate cancer is often a challenge for these patients. In this new episode of our podcast, we have invited a selection of experts to address this topic: Dr. Pedro Freire, an oncologist at USP, Dr. Misael Wanderley, head of urology at Hospital Esperança, and Maria Magalhães, a geriatrician at the Oncogeriatrics outpatient clinic at HC-UFPE. In this really cool chat, we talk about everything: how to evaluate an elderly person with this diagnosis, how to stage and stratify cancer risk, and what the therapeutic proposals are for localized and advanced cancer. To top it off, we discuss possible complications related to treatments. We learned a lot from this conversation. It is definitely worth checking out.
