Today we discuss the importance and role of prophets in the religious tradition and history of the people of Israel. The most important or remarkable prophets are: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos, Hosea and Daniel. These prophets not only predict the future, but had the role of being intermediaries between God and the chosen people, ensuring the spiritual and moral connection. The prophets also awakened the consciences of the people and reminded them of the understandings and promises made in their relationship with God. On the other hand, there are also important prophets who did not leave written texts, such as Nathan and Elijah. The Old Testament tells of their contributions in terms of awakening consciences and speaking the truth. Elijah had a special destiny, triggering the wrath of a tyrannical couple, Ahab and Jezebel. The definition of a prophet in this context is represented by their role in bringing the message and divine will to the chosen people. The future is anticipated by prophets and used as a warning to the people that breaking agreements and making the wrong choice can have serious consequences. ------------------- Casa Paleologu Website: https://paleologu.com/ro Facebook: / casapaleologu Instagram: / casa.paleol. .
