About :

Living in the city of Fedan, which is connected to Babylon, Prophet Jacob had been shepherding the flock of his uncle (Laban), who was the governor of that city, for a long time. The idolatrous people of Fedan made offerings to Ishtar, the mother goddess of Babylon, for rain, and attributed the lack of rain to the gods' displeasure with Jacob's actions. Jacob, on the other hand, told the people of Fedan to believe in one god and not to associate partners with Him. However, despite all their anger, the people of Fedan were afraid of the governor Laban and could not do anything to Jacob. One day, they sentenced Jacob to death for belittling the gods from the people of Fedan. However, just as he was about to be thrown into the fire, Jacob saved the man by paying the blood money. This behavior brought about the belief of the prisoner and his wife. Rachel, one of Jacob's four wives, became pregnant after many years. However, the child was never born.
