The Mayor Karl Lehr Bridge in Duisburg is one of the most important traffic axes between the port and the southern part of the city. The Ruhr and harbor canal bridges, which span two important shipping routes, are currently being extensively renovated and renewed - an ambitious project in which the engineers of the IGS Group have been involved since 2020. In this video we take a detailed look at the progress and challenges of the construction project. You will learn more about the complex processes, such as the shifting of the new bridge segments, on-site quality assurance or the dismantling of the old, almost 115-year-old structures. It also offers an outlook on the next milestones, such as the construction of the substructures and abutments and the shifting of the replacement bridges into their final position in spring 2025.
