Controllers, Air Traffic Control of Serbia and Montenegro - SMATSA, monitor over 2,000 planes daily and ensure the safety of several thousand passengers. They cover the territory of Serbia, Montenegro, parts of the Adriatic Sea and 55% of the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last year, they were declared the best air traffic control in Europe according to the criteria of the European Air Navigation Safety Agency. Given that they perform several very responsible tasks in parallel, the job of an air traffic controller is considered one of the most difficult and stressful jobs.
