He headed the Department of Philosophy, which he founded at the Faculty of Letters at Ege University, and subsequently headed the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university. Ahmet Arslan, who speaks four languages, has published books, articles, and translations in the fields of Ancient Greek Philosophy and Medieval Islamic Philosophy.
