Emir Abdelkader was a Sufi scholar, a humanist Islamic philosopher, and an amazing military leader who led Algerian knights with modest means to confront the most powerful army of the nineteenth century. But he was also the man who united his people at the most critical moments when Algerian cities were falling one after the other in the face of French forces. This film tells the story of the long and amazing journey of Emir Abdelkader the Algerian, through seventeen years of armed struggle against colonialism, up to his long exile in the fortresses of France and Ottoman Damascus. Abdelkader is the man who was addressed by his enemies with respect and admiration and who defended with his weapon the fate of Christians in Damascus during the massacres of 1860. Dozens of streets and institutions around the world bear his name. #Aljazeera_in_Ramadan @aljazeeradocumentary ============= ▶▶ Follow us ▶▶ Live broadcast ▶ http://ajadnr.com/2OsFScV Facebook ▶ / aljazeerachannel Twitter ▶ / ajarabic WEB ▶ http://ajadnr.com/3kNPF9v Instagram ▶ / aljazeera Podcast ▶ http://ajadnr.com/2PzAPaZ Subscribe to the channel ✅ https://ajadnr.com/38e0mgy
