This 404 Superluxe with rare original green leather interior comes from the heir of the second owner in the Vosges. The car was first registered on January 18, 1966 and, according to the son-in-law of the deceased last owner, was bought by his father as the second owner in December 1995. Unfortunately, invoices for parts and repairs are only available from 2014. The son-in-law could not find any older documents. The deceased gentleman, who had owned the car since 1995, only used it sporadically as a collector's vehicle during this time when the weather was nice. To protect the old original paint, it was given a thin layer of clear varnish a few years ago. The original paint has been preserved underneath and this is confirmed not only by the measurement of the paint thickness, but also by the visibility of the original welding points on the outer door panels, which are usually no longer visible with a new coat of paint. The body is in incredibly good original condition. The underbody is also completely original and even the side members under the front seats are not dented, which suggests that the car has always been in workshops that know these cars well. Because in almost every 404, these side members have been used at some point to attach a lifting platform. However, the side members were not intended for this and are therefore usually always dented - not so with this car! The dashboard looks almost as good as new and the beautiful pine green leather has no cracks, is soft and has an extremely pleasant patina. The recorded mileage is 63,163, but there is no evidence of this. But even if it were 163,163 kilometers, that is almost nothing for a 404, because the engines usually last 300,000 to 400,000 kilometers without an overhaul. This vehicle is clearly one of the best examples that we have had in our workshop in our nineteen-year company history, and there were 77 of them. The color combination beige metallic 1129 with green leather 2136 was only offered from October 1965 to July 1966. We think it's an extremely stylish color combination for this vehicle.
