On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. Almudévar presented its new pair of giants, a couple of young people who represent a fifth and a fifth, one of the protagonists of the Almudévar festivities that are celebrated from September 7 to 12. They are dressed in the traditional gala attire of the town, which was recovered years ago, a dress that we can traditionally find in the procession of the Virgen de la Corona. Its name is still to be decided. The fifth carries in her right hand an almud, one of the hallmarks of Almudévar. The fifth holds a "espedo", an iron bar with the traditional party cakes or bun cakes, it is a typical sweet of this town. They are made of fiberglass and are approximately 3.5 meters high. They have been built by José Maria Sánchez from the Artesanía JM Sánchez workshop. The presentation was attended by the Music Band '' La Corona '' from Almudévar, the dulzaineros '' Os Chufladors '', the big heads of Almudévar, the Giants' Troupe of Ontinar de Salz, and a representation of the Troupe of Giants, Big Heads and Horses of Huesca among which were the giants Alfonso I El Batallador and the Ansotana. The giants that were invited to the presentation are related to Almudévar, on the one hand the giants of Ontinar de Salz represent a couple of settlers, who accompanied the population in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of its three colonization centers: Artasona del Llano, San Jorge and Valsalada. On the part of Huesca, Alfonso I El Batallador to whom the Christian conquest of Almudévar corresponds and the Ansotana that remembers the transhumance.
