This book is a collection of memoirs by Marina Tsvetaeva’s daughter Ariadna Sergeevna Efron, recorded by Elena Korkina in 1970–1973. The publication includes twenty-four stories, seven of which are dedicated to Ariadna Efron’s life in Paris in the 1930s, and the rest tell of the sixteen years she spent in camps and exile. A.S. Efron is known as the author of memoirs about Marina Tsvetaeva, “Pages of the Past,” the publisher of her literary heritage, and the translator of Western European poetry and drama, but she never had the chance to write a book about her life. Elena Korkina, having spent the last six years of her life in close contact with Ariadna Efron, recorded the stories she heard from her and, five decades later, prepared this collection of oral stories. The book will be presented by the author, researcher and publisher of the creative heritage of Marina Tsvetaeva, textologist and archivist, candidate of philological sciences, senior researcher at the Marina Tsvetaeva House-Museum Elena Baurdzhanovna Korkina.
