PRAYER FOR RAIN God, our Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, You are our existence, energy and life. You created man in Your image so that through his work he might make the riches of the earth bear fruit, thus collaborating in Your creation. We are aware of our misery and weakness: we can do nothing without You. You, kind Father, who makes the sun shine upon all and sends the rain, have compassion on all who suffer greatly from the drought that threatens us in these days. Listen kindly to the prayers that are addressed to You with trust by Your Church, just as You granted the supplications of the prophet Elijah, who interceded on behalf of Your people. Send the desired rain from the sky upon the arid land, so that the fruits may be reborn and men and animals may be saved. May the rain be for us a sign of Your grace and blessing: thus, comforted by Your mercy, we will give You thanks for all the gifts of earth and heaven, with which Your Spirit quenches our thirst. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who revealed to us Your love, the source of living water, springing up to eternal life. Amen. (Pope Paul VI) DON’T FORGET TO SHARE ????
